Work, school for all of us, after school activities for the girls made this week beyond busy. We literally were falling into bed and falling asleep exhausted every night. Everywhere I looked, all I could see this week was what was going wrong....the house is a mess, feeling rushed in all of my assignments, barely having time to eat dinner each night before we are off and running to the next thing that needs to be done, left me feeling like a failure and feeling very alone. It was the toughest week I have had in a long time. As I was doing my reading for my Book of Mormon class, I had come across this scripture, and I have gone back to read it over and over this past week. It is 3 Nephi 22:7. "For a small moment have I forsaken thee, but with great mercies will I gather thee."
This scripture reminds me that while yes, I will have challenges, and that life can be and is often overwhelming that I am never alone. He is always there. As my sweet Daylyn reminded me this week, above the rain clouds, the sky is always blue. I am going to try to work hard to remember that everyday. I will look for the sunshine, the small miracles and tender mercies that are in my lives, and are there for me to see if I take the time to look for them. the lyrics from Michael Mclean, say what I have been feeling more eloquently that I could ever express them.
You’re Not Alone
Here’s a little song to help you get along.
It will see you through when you’re feeling blue.
And though it’s not profound when you’re feeling down, so down,
Sing this little tune, and you’ll feel better soon.
You’re not alone, even when you’re feeling on your own,
You are loved in ways that can’t be shown; your needs are known;
You’re not alone.
And when you cry, you’re just letting go of heartache deep inside,
And tomorrow there’ll be sunshine and sky and love close by;
You’re not alone.
And we know that it’s not easy, but we know that it won’t last,
’cause one that loves you more than me is sending blessings fast.
You’re not alone, say it one more time,
“I’m not alone,”
And even when it’s hard to find the words, our prayers are heard;
We’re not alone.
You’re not alone.
